Wiring and Rewiring

New circuits for new needs - and the careful surgery of rewiring older homes without tearing them apart.

Wiring work we do

  • New circuits for kitchens, shops, hot tubs and additions
  • Whole-house and partial rewires of older homes
  • Knob-and-tube and aluminum wiring remediation
  • Renovation wiring - roughed in on the framer's schedule, inspected on time
  • Dedicated circuits for the things that hate sharing: fridges, freezers, office equipment

Old-house rewiring without the horror show

Rewiring an occupied older home is a craft: fishing walls, lifting the minimum of floorboards, using attics and basements as highways, and patching what we do open. We plan the route before we cut, work room by room so you can live around it, and leave every circuit labeled.

Knob-and-tube and aluminum aren't automatic emergencies, but they are insurance and safety liabilities with modern loads - most insurers eventually force the issue. Better on your schedule than theirs.

Common questions

How disruptive is a rewire?

Livable. We work in stages, keep power on outside the day's work area, and patch our access holes. Expect days to a couple of weeks depending on the house.

My insurer flagged my wiring - now what?

Common story. We inspect, give you a written scope and price, and provide the completion documentation your insurer wants.

Can you just fix the worst of it?

Often yes - a prioritized plan can spread work over time. We'll tell you what's urgent, what's soon and what can wait.

Modern loads deserve modern copper.
