Panel Upgrades

Your panel is the heart of the house's electrical system - and most older homes are running one built for a 1970s idea of electricity.

Signs your panel is past it

  • Breakers that trip when normal life happens - microwave plus toaster shouldn't be a crisis
  • A 60 or 100-amp service in a house full of modern loads
  • Fuse boxes, double-tapped breakers or recalled brands like FPE and Zinsco
  • No room for the new circuit your EV, hot tub or addition needs
  • Warm panel covers, buzzing, or rust and scorch marks - call us today for those

What an upgrade includes

A modern 200-amp panel with copper bus, arc-fault and ground-fault protection where code requires, properly torqued terminations and a labeled directory that actually matches the rooms. We coordinate the utility disconnect, pull the permit and meet the inspector - you get safety, capacity and paperwork.

Most upgrades are done in a day, with power back on before dinner.

Common questions

How long is the power off?

Typically 4-8 hours on upgrade day. We schedule around your needs and confirm the utility window in advance.

Do I need 200 amps?

For most modern households with an EV or major appliances coming - yes. We do a load calculation first, so it's math, not upsell.

Is my old panel dangerous?

Some brands genuinely are - FPE and Zinsco breakers have documented failure-to-trip histories. If you have one, get it assessed. We'll tell you honestly.

Your house grew. Your panel didn't.
